Featured Homes: Graggamoore Estate is Second Highest Sale in Buckhead

Designing & building homes for our clients at the level of quality & craftsmanship we provide is a rare privilege. It gives us great satisfaction when the front door finally opens and the families we serve finally move in to the residence. Although these are bespoke properties, designed to be enjoyed for generations to come, when we do see a project being sold it’s a delight to observe the process.

Recently, one of our Woodland Hills estates made the news as the second highest Buckhead real estate transaction. Impressive sale price aside, Graggamoore Estate, as we call it, is a once-in-a-lifetime creation. From the classic materials we sources to the artisans we engaged to create this luxurious residence, it is truly a remarkable property. It thrills us to see it make headlines, and recognized for its architectural elegance.

Quality and attention to detail require an exceptional level of commitment, yet this is what distinguishes our firm - and our clients - from the rest. And projects such as this Woodland Hills Manor remind us that the labor of love is well worth the investment. Learn more via STL News:

Woodland Hills Manor, designed by William T. Baker, is located off West Paces Ferry just north of Atlanta. The stately home exudes a warm elegance, and sits on a private, five acre estate with the amenities and convenience of city living. According to Baker, “Woodland Hills Manor is a fantastic piece of art that you get to enjoy living in.”

Historical architectural styles are the most sought after in Atlanta. To maintain the true integrity of this desirable style, it’s often necessary to compromise on modern functionality. Not so with Woodland Hills Manor, which seamlessly combines the look and feel of an historic estate with a state-of-the-art technology system. Set high on a hill the estate is overlooking a forest of mature trees, the home is constructed from Wissahickon Schist, a special stone imported from Pennsylvania, and is accented with Indiana limestone and traditional English roof tiles. Some of the windows are filled with leaded sashes using hand-blown bottle glass, while the larger arched windows are steel frame with German Restoration Glass. The centerpiece of the entry is the magnificent oak staircase with its 2-inch-thick panels in period style. On the other side of the foyer is the dining room which has a lofty cathedral ceiling banded by heavy timbering. Overlooking the room is a minstrel gallery, accessed by a hidden door from the second floor, which provides a place for musicians to perform while you and your guests dine.
