Bespoke Details: Foyers That Set the Tone for the Home

Stepping foot in a home for the first time reveals a lot about the family’s style and interests. When custom features are present, it can also showcase life experiences, passions and private collections. In our Jacksonville project we used a Murano glass chandelier to add color and lend a nod to a love of the Italian art form.

In another residence, a massive framed abstract painting greets guests with a punch of color in an otherwise cozy foyer. To keep lighting soft and indirect, we flanked the piece with lamps to lend an ethereal glow upon the art. A long, low settee invites lingering, making this pretty area of the home a wonderful spot to pause for a moment.

Our Lotus House project features an impressive two-story foyer with gorgeous white paneling emphasizing the height of the space. Thanks to an abundance of natural light from the second floor, we were able to introduce a statement piece as light fixture, rather than focus purely on function. A glamorous branch-inspired chandelier hangs dramatically by the staircase, offering both illumination for the art on the wall and lighting for the space itself. The result is a welcoming space that offers a hint of the homeowner’s love of art and opulent design elements.

Showing even more variety, our Kasler-Morris project perfectly pairs modern and classic. The spacious foyer it lit by an oversized brass pendant suspended over a center table. During daylight hours, sunlight pours in to fill the space with natural light. The minimal design of the lighting paired with tightly edited furnishings sets the tone for dramatic design from the moment guests enter the home
