RJT+R is a full service design firm located in Atlanta, Georgia with
over 50 highly experienced design professionals. Areas of expertise
include office, corporate interiors, complex mixed use facilities,
hospitality, urban retail, suburban retail, multi-family residential,
call/data centers, medical office facilities and
educational/institutional. As a company, RJT+R has completed projects
in over twelve different states. The principals of the firm have
completed work in over 20 different states and a half dozen different
countries. In three and a half short years RJT+R has already been
awarded Top Places to Work in Metro Atlanta and the Atlanta Business
Chronicle's Pacesetters Award for strongest growing
companies.
RJT+R, LLC was founded on January 3, 2005 by Rob Rule, Dan Joy, Joe
Trammell and Ann Rubio. With a combined total of over 90 years of
architectural and interior design experience, the four partners have
worked closely together for over a decade forming relationships with
clients to realize successful design solutions in a collaborative and
creative atmosphere. RJT+R has grown to include many talented design
professionals who are also dedicated to the principles of service,
integrity, teamwork, accountability, and the pursuit of excellence.
Joe has over 30 years
of professional experience in design and construction. He
has the design, technical, and management skills needed for
virtually any project. Joe is dedicated to Client satisfaction
and will work with the Owner and project team to ensure the
project is completed on time and within budget. Joe is a
Registered Architect in 20 states and has an
NCARB Certification.
R. Joseph Trammell, since entering the Georgia Tech School of Architecture in 1963, has achieved his goal of excelling in a balanced approach to all aspects of architectural practice.
Mr. Trammell has had a significant role in the successful design, execution and construction of a diverse and distinctive
body of work ranging from a 1.2 million SF corporate training center for Xerox in Leesburg, Virginia, to a 160,000 SF Science Center for the University of Richmond, restoration and renovation of historic Boston South Station into an
intermodal transportation center, a 30-story, 750,000 SF multi-tenant office tower in Charlotte, North Carolina, a 750,000 SF headquarters for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, a 500,000 SF operations and data center for AmSouth Bank,
and Twelve Atlantic Station, a mixed-use development in Midtown Atlanta with 400 residential units, 104 hotel suites, ground level retail and below-grade, structural parking.
Positions held by Mr. Trammell include service as a United States Coast Guard Officer during the Vietnam War, senior
level positions in the 1970's and early 1980's with the Washington, D.C. offices of three nationally prominent firms: The Kling Partnership, John Carl Warnecke & Associates, and Skidmore Owings and Merrill. While an Associate with Skidmore
Owings and Merrill, Mr. Trammell attended the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C. and earned a Juris Doctorate in May of 1982. Mr. Trammell joined Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates, Inc.
(SRSS) of Atlanta in 1983. He was named an Associate in 1985 and an equity Principal in 1990. During his 22 years with SRSS, Mr. Trammell helped guide the growth and success of SRSS from a 50-person regional firm to a 300-person
international firm. Mr. Trammell resigned this position on January 3, 2005 to form Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio, LLC. Mr. Trammell has helped guide the remarkable growth of this Atlanta-based firm to a staff of over 50 professionals, with $10
million in annual revenues, projects in 12 states, and designation as one of the "Best Places to Work" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, an honor earned by only one other Atlanta architectural firm since the beginning of 2005.
Voluntary positions held by Mr. Trammell have included Chairman of the Professional Development Committee for
Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Washington, D.C. from 1980-1983; Architectural Advisor to the Lenox Park Atlanta Design Control Committee from 1999 through 2004; and a member of the Georgia Tech Founder's Council since 2004.
Mr. Trammell was awarded the 1967 Koppers Prize for Student Design which funded a fifth tuition scholarship. Award
winning projects managed by Mr. Trammell include Providence Station, a 1983 PA Design Award Recipient, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Metropolis Mixed-Use Development, and Twelve Atlantic Station, recipients of ULI
Atlanta District Council Awards for 2002, 2003, 2005.
Mr. Trammell has been credited for his role in Providence Station, Boston South Station, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in articles about these projects in Progressive Architecture, Architectural Record, and Building Design and
Construction.
