As executive vice president , Alec Michaelides provides
comprehensive landscape architectural design services, as well as
on-site project management and construction observations for the firm's
projects. In 1985, he and professional associate, Kenneth Lemm, formed
Land Plus Associates and the two soon developed an outstanding
reputation as site planners and landscape architects. Their signature
projects include expansive, detailed and creative designs for some of
the finest private residences and estates in Atlanta and throughout the
Southeast.
Throughout his multi-layered career in landscape
architecture, Alec Michaelides has focused on the design and management
of site planning and landscapes for projects of varying types and sizes.
His strength in site planning, landscape development and project
management has led to the firm's growth in projects involving
neighborhood design and community development, plus the planning and
design of notable specialty resort and leisure properties.
Prior to forming Land Plus more than 20 years ago, Alec
gained extensive professional experience at some of Atlanta's most
important private and corporate firms. He began his career at
Laubmann-Reed Associates where he was responsible for master planning
and site design for government installations at King's Bay, Georgia and
in Saudi Arabia, plus numerous resort and residential communities. He
later worked for multi-family and commercial developers Cochran
Properties and Post Properties where he was responsible for detailed
site design and amenity development for a number of high profile
multi-family communities involving dramatic entrance designs, multi-acre
greenspaces and commons areas.
He holds the bachelor of Landscape Architecture from
Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and has professional
registrations in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee,
Indiana and Florida. Alec is a member of the American Society of
Landscape Architects, and has been certified by the Council of Landscape
Architecture Review Boards.
